There were multiple regiments with the number 51 in the American Civil War, including regiments from Virginia, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, so we can’t say for certain which one this is.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWood framed pack covered with waterproofed canvas is often seen on Civil War issued haversacks. Pack measures approx. 15.0 inches long x 4.0 inches wide x 13.75 high. Two of the three blanket straps appear to be present, but the shoulder straps are completely absent on this example. One of the two buckles is present. The interior flaps are in good condition and retain their ties. This pack is very well-worn but still retains the front flap showing the gorgeous paint work. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are always difficult to find, especially ones that are marked to a specific regiment.
