These are all original and as we received them, except for cleaning the dirt and grime off the exterior.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that these are still real antique guns, and are being sold in \"As is\" condition at a significant discount from what they would sell at if we were to fully restore them. We will do our best to photograph and describe them and know that our customers will know exactly what they are getting. Some of these, such as this example, look to have possibly been project or parts guns, and are missing a significant amount of parts. A contemporary of the Sharp's four barrel pistol produced in the same era, the Starr which we offer here was fitted with a SIDE MOUNTED HAMMER. It is marked on the round action cover with:\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ccenter\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSTARR’S PAT.S\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMAY 10 1864\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/center\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe only other marking is a \u003cstrong\u003e60\u003c\/strong\u003e stamped onto both the bottom of the barrel and the top of the frame, which we assume is the serial number. The action normally revolves the firing pin housing and NOT the hammer head as on many of the earlier examples by Sharps \u0026amp; Hankins. Press button on the left hand side releases the four barrels to \"tip up\", pivoting upwards for loading. The pistol features a circular button checkered steel push trigger. All in all an improvement over the Sharps \u0026amp; Hankins designs in some ways. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition Notes:\u003cbr\u003e- Overall condition shows light overall oxidation on the metalwork, but no signs of refinishing. There is some of the nickel plating intact on the brass frame.\u003cbr\u003e- Rotating firing pin mechanism is non functional, however the hammer holds and full cock and dry fires correctly.\u003cbr\u003e- Bores show some rifling but also fouling and oxidation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA nice Grade 2 \"As Found\" example of a real favorite of River Boat Gamblers for self defense.
