Its compact, smooth-sided body differed considerably from the externally segmented defensive F-1 grenade. The RGD-5 design was subsequently supplied to and manufactured by a number of Soviet-aligned nations, making the general pattern familiar throughout the Warsaw Pact and beyond.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular example appears to have been intended for training. It is fitted with a long dark-colored release lever and retains its safety pin and pull ring.
