Scott's Curtiss P-40K Warhawk, Old Exterminator, returned from that mission without a scratch. General Scott spoke of that mission as the day I owned the sky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eScott commanded the 23rd Fighter Group, 14th Air Force (the Flying Tigers). He finished the war with 22 confirmed victories.
