Original Set Two of French Bayonets with Scabbards - M1874 Gras Cadet & M1892 Mannlicher Berthier

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Set Available. Several years ago IMA acquired a large bayonet collection from a very enthusiastic European collector. Some of these we have decided to sell in small groups, giving starting collectors a great chance to pick up a few bayonets to get started with collecting. Here we offer two late 19th Century French Bayonets, complete with their original scabbards.

The second set is a French T-back blade bayonet for the M1874 Chassepot "Cadet" Rifle, which is a scaled down training version. The bayonet is similarly scaled down, looking more like a knife, and has a rounded end on the 14 1/2" long blade for training. Condition is very good, with an original steel scabbard.

The second bayonet we have is a short Sword bayonet for use with the M1892 Mannlicher Berthier rifle. It features a standard bayonet type blade, hooked quillon, and dark hardwood grips. It is in very good condition with wear commensurate to its age, with an original steel scabbard and belt frog.

A nice set of French bayonets, complete with scabbards and ready to add to your collection!
