These machetes, especially in this condition, are quite difficult to find on this side of the globe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis machete is blade marked with \u003cstrong\u003e“D (broadarrow) D”\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003e“DC-1944”\u003c\/strong\u003e underneath. The DC indicates that this particular example was fabricated by Die Casters Pty Ltd of Melbourne. The machete itself is in beautiful condition, still exhibiting a gorgeous blued finish, original sharpened edge (devoid of nicks!). The original plastic grip scales are in excellent condition, unbroken, and only showing slight wear from handling over the decades.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sheath is an original “Jungle” issue version of the standard All-leather British\/Commonwealth Machete Sheath. The Body is made of Resin impregnated fiber intended to withstand the brutal heat and humidity of a Jungle environment better than leather. This sheath is a specimen that matches the machete perfectly. The markings on the reverse with \u003cstrong\u003e“P.I.I.1944”\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003e“(Broadarrow) 33”\u003c\/strong\u003e marking faintly visible. Lanyard cord is undoubtedly period, and appears to have been secured to the pommel of the machete for a very long time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn excellent example that would be quite difficult to upgrade from!
