The key unlocks the “let down” lid, revealing the four shelves that pull out.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior of the lid is velvet-lined with a brass plaque engraved: \"\u003cstrong\u003eThe Livingstone Mint Rhodesian Honours and Awards Set No. 78\u003c\/strong\u003e\", denoting it is part of a limited issue of 500 sets. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach of the four drawers is lined in velvet with the medals and honours placed delicately inside. The set consists of 45 different Rhodesian honours and awards. All medals that are engravable are engraved \u003cstrong\u003eCOLLECTORS SET 78\u003c\/strong\u003e, and all are matching to this set. 35 of the 45 medals are engraved, with the other 10 being classes of the Rhodesian Legion of Merit, none of which are engraved.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe desk set when closed measures \u003cstrong\u003e27 ¼ x 19 ½ x 13 ¼”\u003c\/strong\u003e. There is scuffing along the corners but the set is in great shape overall. There is some oxidation on the drawer handles. The original certificate of authenticity is not present, but there is a letter from the SPINK Auction House in London dated June 25th, 1996 denoting that the COA for the lot could not be located.
