Original Item. One of a Kind. Clearly a quality item when produced in 1927, when young Captain Charles Lindbergh made his historic SOLO trans Atlantic airplane crossing in "The Spirit of St. Louis". The photograph covering the entire top measures 7 1/2" by 3 1/2" and bears the flight information and times. Departure at 8.52 am and arrival in France at 4.20 pm the following day. Allowing for the time difference between North America and Europe that makes the flight duration of about 26 hours and 28 minutes in total. Today we can fly that same route in just about 6 and half hours.
Standing just 2 1/2" tall this is a useful little trinket box with some historical significance. In great condition, nicely wood lined, ready to display!
