Item Description
Original Item. One of a Kind. This is a Classic example of its type. Dating to around 1800/1820, the "Hand" blunderbuss mimics the shape of a full sized blunderbuss of the period but is down scaled for use with one hand. It is full stocked a fully carved with very intricate designs and silver wire inlays. The blunderbuss barrel is 12" long terminating in a wide mouth to front. The weapon is 22" in overall length.
The barrel and the lock are heavily embossed in bright SILVER decorations still in almost perfect condition. The Silver decoration extends to both the trigger guard, side plate and butt cap.The action operates perfectly in both full cock and half cock positions.
This is a real peach of its type. Often associated with the Barbary Pirates, it makes an awesome display piece.
