This is a very nice late Cold War \/ Soviet Collapse era (1987 dated) Russian Naval Ensign of the Soviet Union. This design was first instituted in 1950, replacing a very similar flag in service since 1935, which had much larger insignia in the field. This wonderful canvas or linen flag measures roughly \u003cstrong\u003e53 x 80 inches,\u003c\/strong\u003e the perfect size for a Cold War Wall display.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe flag is white, with a blue bar on the bottom, representing the ocean, with a red Soviet Star to the left and a red Hammer \u0026amp; Sickle to the right. Definitely a very attractive and simple design, which would be flown from all Soviet Naval vessels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe colors are retained very well, and overall it is in very good condition. There is a bit of age toning, but otherwise it is in great shape. The original nylon halyard is still sewn into the header, with loops at the top and bottom.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reverse side of the flags header is marked \u003cstrong\u003e1987г \u003c\/strong\u003e(год or year), indicating manufacture in 1987.
