This is a very good, near excellent condition genuine WWII issue Japanese rubberized face mask, with metal rimmed clear lenses. The filter can has a wonderful partial paper label with instructions still attached. There are also markings stamped into the top of the can, one of which is \u003cstrong\u003e昭 1 6\u003c\/strong\u003e, for the 16th year of the Showa era, or 1941. There is also a maker mark.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rubberized canvas mask is still fully intact, and unlike so many we see, it is still soft and pliable! There is a bit of light cracking around the very edge, but otherwise it is quite flexible, with even the eye defogging tubes being springy.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside on the left side the mask is maker marked matching the can, and also dated with \u003cstrong\u003e昭 1 6\u003c\/strong\u003e for 1941. The straps are all present and in good condition, though only one is still stretchy, as the rubber has degraded.
