This is a very good, near excellent condition genuine WWII issue Japanese rubberized face mask, with metal rimmed lenses. The filter can has a wonderful paper label with instructions still attached. There are also markings stamped into the top of the can, one of which is\u003cstrong\u003e 昭 1 8\u003c\/strong\u003e, for the 18th year of the Showa era, or 1943. There is also a maker mark.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rubberized canvas mask is still fully intact, but it is stiff. There is a bit of cracking around the very edge, but otherwise it is quite flexible, with even the eye defogging tubes being springy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside on the left side the mask is maker mark different front the filter, marked with 昭 but no number, so we can’t identify the year. The straps are all present and in good condition, though only one is still stretchy, as the rubber has degraded.
