The sword itself mimics the appearance of the classic British Model 1796 Officer’s Sword, which traditionally was a very popular design amongst the European market for decades. There is a Bavarian crown on the rain chape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Sword features a lovely 32 ⅞” etched blade, decorated on each side with the Bavarian motto “\u003cstrong\u003eIn Treue Fest\u003c\/strong\u003e” surrounded by decorative border and foliage. The ricasso is etched:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLORENZ\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSTANKO\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMÜNCHEN\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe very tip of the blade is a bit dented. The overall length is 38 ¼”. The grip is wire-wrapped sharkskin in great shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe scabbard is standard brass-mounted leather in good shape with a long frog button. It measures 33 ⅛” though there is a bend in the center which may be a repaired break.
