The sword measures 11 1\/8 inches with a blade of 8 3\/4 inches long. Aside from just a bit of the tip of the blade missing, it is in great shape. It looks to have been given out in 1899 during a celebration of \"Kaiser Day\" in Solingen, which is in the heart of the \u003cem\u003eBergischen Lande\u003c\/em\u003e (Mountain Land) area of Western Germany.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne side of the blade shows the Imperial German Eagle, with lots of Oak Leaf motifs, and a crown over a cross.
