Original German WWII Wood Handle Trench Fighting Knife with Original Steel Boot Scabbard

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Fitted with a double-edged spear-point blade, this is an original fighting knife used by the Germans in WWI and then again in WWII. In nice used condition, this knife has a ribbed wooden grip secured by three rivets. Grip scales are in good condition, with no cracks or major chips, and a nice color. The blade is full length on the bottom of the blade, while the top edge is only on the last 2 1/2 inches of the blade, leaving a good amount of spine on the back for strength. The blade has been used, but is still quite sharp and in solid condition. Overall length is 10 3/8 inches with a 5 7/8 inch blade.

The knife comes in an genuine rolled steel WWII steel scabbard with a spring steel "boot" clip on the back, which would allow attachment to the the side of a boot or to a belt. This style of attachment held by pressure, and could also be mounted on other parts of the uniform. The finish on the scabbard is very good, with just a bit of crazing and scratches. There is a small dent on the side.

No visible markings but 100% original, a very example for display in any quality German edged weapons collection.
