This is a very good condition WWII German NSDAP Political National \u003cem\u003eWimpel\u003c\/em\u003e (Pennant) Flag, which measures a very large 135 inches (11.52ft.) in fly by 44 inches (3.67ft) in hoist. These were usually flown inside, as it is not quite the weight of fabric needed to survive outdoors, and it it only has small brass rings attached to the header, so we assume it was hung on a wall. It is of all cotton construction, and is single sided with single piece cotton white circle with a printed black \u003cem\u003eswas\u003c\/em\u003e (hook cross) sewn onto the red field. There is a faint stamped marking near one corner, that we were not able to read.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition is very good, showing overall age toning, as well as some smaller stains. We can also see scattered dirt and other small defects like holes indicative of being on display for a long period of time. This would make a great background for a German WWII wall display, once the wrinkles smooth out a bit. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party.
