It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a printed black \u003cem\u003eswas\u003c\/em\u003e (hook cross) in white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. There is also a white rayon fringe sewn onto the bottom, and it measures 29\" x 39\", not counting the fringe. There are hang ties attached to the top, and not a hanging slot, so it was most likely intended to be attached directly to the podium.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe banner is offered in wonderful service worn condition, with light fading on both sides.
