Silver, flatware and serving pieces were specifically made during the NSDAP Period for various locations frequented by the party elite. One of these locations was Schloss Klessheim (Klessheim Castle), a Baroque palace located in Wals-Siezenheim, 4 km (2.5 mi) west of Salzburg, Austria. This situated it quite close to Adolf H's Berghof residence in Obersalzberg, about 30km away. A very regal location, the castle was used for conferences and to host official guests like Benito Mussolini, Miklós Horthy, Ion Antonescu, Jozef Tiso and Ante Pavelić. Many dignitaries would also stay there on their way to visit the NSDAP elite living in the area. This castle was maintained as a government residence, and therefore, had its own silver pattern that was used for meal service.

This is a very nice Schloss Klessheim pattern teaspoon, which is in very good condition. This style is also known as the "Bormann" pattern, as the same silverware was used at NSDAP secretary Martin Bormann's house in Obersalzberg. These all feature a distinctive closed wing art deco style Reichsadler eagle with the bottom of the wings and feet forming a bent line over the mobile swas. The reverse of the handle is marked with ART. KRUPP BERNDORF surrounding the tiny round "Bear" logo of the company, which has the same abbreviation around it, though you will need a 16x magnifier to read it. Next to this is a 90 in a circle and a 21 in a rectangle, which are markings related to the silver plating of the spoon. The "90" most likely indicates the weight in grams used for silvering 12 forks and 12 spoons. We do not know what the other marking means.

The teaspoon measures 15.5cm (6.10in.) long, and the condition is very good, and it looking to have been stored well, as there is only light tarnish in areas with no signs of heavy polishing, though there is some wear around the bowl of the spoon.

A very nice example of NSDAP Era Klessheim Castle Silverware, ready to research and display!

https://www.ima-usa.com/products/original-german-wwii-schloss-klessheim-pattern-silver-teaspoon-by-arthur-krupp-of-berndorf
