It is constructed of what looks to be silver plated nickel silver (neusilber) alloy, and is the early multi-part design. Unfortunately, while the topper still has the attachment rod, the socket fitting on the bottom is missing. We cannot see any bending to the pole topper, and no major damage from being dropped or anything similar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design is the standard NSDAP \"Spread Wing\" \u003cem\u003eReichsadler\u003c\/em\u003e (National Eagle), which looks to its right, and is perched on an oak-leaf wreath, with a mobile\/canted \u003cem\u003eSwas\u003c\/em\u003e (hook cross) in the center. It measures 9 inches tall including the 2 inch threaded rod, and is 8 inches wide at the tips of the wings. There is some oxidation to the plating on the eagle, but only a few places of wear through to the base material. The black paint on the swas is also still very well retained, with more flaking on the obverse than the reverse.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese Flag Pole Finials are extremely hard to find, as most were destroyed or melted back down as scrap.
