We have seen similar examples before, used as signs for shooting clubs, however this example was used as a target for the competition itself! It has a very nice inscription around an inlaid circle of lighter wood, which reads:\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUnteroffiziers Preisschießen 22. 4. 1942\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBester schütze: Uffz. Hildebrandt\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe basic translation is \"NCOs Prize Shooting 22 April 1942. Best Shooter: Sergeant Hildebrandt\". As an added bonus, next to all of the bullet holes in the target are the names of the NCOs whose shots made them! Looks like most of the NCOs in the competition could use some target practice!\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are two swas (hook cross) insignia on either side of the target, and the center features what looks to be some version of the interwar \u003cem\u003ePanzerkampfwagen I\u003c\/em\u003e (PzKpfw I or Panzer I). There is the name \u003cstrong\u003eH. FRIEDMANN\u003c\/strong\u003e on the print, which we have not been able to find any information on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition is very good, with the colors well retained, and a lovely aged look to the painted front. The rear shows remnants of a maker label, however most of it was removed by the shots near the center.
