They were possibly demobilized during the interwar period, but once the military buildup to WWII began, they rejoined, and by 1943 were a Senior NCO or officer. Camouflaging helmets was very common in the European Theater, however in tribute to the WWI camouflage patterns, they applied \"panel\" style camouflage to the exterior. It shows greens and browns in angular panels, with a black border, an unmistakable look from the first world war. This example also has had chicken wire strung over the entire shell, which allowed additional items such as fabric and foliage to be attached, improving the camouflage profile.
