Original German WWII M35 Single Decal Helmet D-Day Utah Beach SS Jim Bridger

Item Description

Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is a fantastic US WW2 Veteran Bring Back Helmet shell. The helmet is a nice condition German M35 Single Heer (army decal) version. Above the left ear interior of the apron has a stamped manufacturer's code and size ET68 indicating it was manufactured by Eisenhuttenwerk AG, Thale Harz. Size 68 is an extra large size that can accommodate liners from 60cm to 62cm or US 7 1/2 to 7 3/4.

The decal is a classic Army version and is retained at 85% which silver tone and details still present. The front of the helmet is painted in period yellow paint that reads:

The SS Jim Bridger was a Liberty class American Merchant Marine Ship that is verified to have been at Normandy on June 6th, 1944.  Operation Overlord, the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 (D-Day) included "Operation Neptune" the water transportation of men and equipment to Normandy. The initial assault ships could carry 160,000 troops and 16,000 vehicles. The assault armada numbered 6,939 ships, boats and amphibious craft -- the largest number of vessels ever assembled.
