The blade release button and base are marked with production number \u003cstrong\u003e608.\u003c\/strong\u003e The blade release functions properly, as does the marlinspike hinge. The base of the marlinspike is marked with a Weimar\/Luftwaffe eagle with a number \u003cstrong\u003e5\u003c\/strong\u003e inside. Both leaf springs are intact and show no signs of cracking, which is unfortunately common with these knives. They were in actuality designed for cutting through parachute rigging, so long term durability was not of a major concern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blade of this knife is in good condition, with a nice visible maker name and trademark. Unfortunately, it was used quite a bit, and the blade has been altered somewhat from the original shape due to wear and sharpening.
