He died in a field hospital on \u003cstrong\u003eApril 20th, 1942\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e- 1 Death letter sent home for the death of \u003cstrong\u003eFritz Tellmann\u003c\/strong\u003e, Corporal in a \u003cstrong\u003eLuftwaffe field regiment\u003c\/strong\u003e, holder of the Eastern Medal. Died in the heavy fighting at Lake Ilmen on \u003cstrong\u003eJanuary 8th, 1943\u003c\/strong\u003e, 9 months after his brother.\u003cbr\u003e- Letter sent to Tellmann’s mother after she requested more information about her son’s death. This letter goes into excruciating detail about Karl’s death, explaining how his upper left arm was shattered by green nata splinters, and had to be amputated in the hospital. It’s explained that after recovering, he caught pneumonia which exacerbated his wounds and killed him. A very scarce letter to have. This was likely written by his commanding officer.\u003cbr\u003e- Letter sent to Tellmann’s family apologizing for the death of their second son \u003cstrong\u003eFritz\u003c\/strong\u003e in \u003cstrong\u003eFebruary 1943\u003c\/strong\u003e.
