This is a very good original German WWII Karabiner 98k leather rifle sling, manufactured in 1939 by Joseph Moll of Goch and retaining its original steel hardware, leather-covered rear Frosch, sliding keeper loop, and clearly stamped maker marking.

The leather is in good order, and there is a clear stamped marking at the end of the sling:

JOSEPH MOLL
GOCH
1939

This is a very nice solid example that retains its steel buckle (Klemmstück), with the leather guard fully intact, and a great worn finish. The buckle pin (Klemmwaltze) is in good condition. The inside of the buckle has the correct textured surface for a more secure length adjustment. The sling end frog (frosch) is correct and made from leather covered steel. The sliding keeper loop is present, which are often lost over the years. There is some heavy cracking and crazing in the leather but nothing serious.

The combination of the clear Joseph Moll of Goch maker stamp, 1939 date, original steel Klemmstück and Klemmwalze, leather-covered Frosch, surviving sliding keeper, and honest service wear makes this a particularly complete early-war K98k sling. Its dated maker marking places it directly in the opening year of World War II and provides a much stronger identification than an unmarked wartime sling.

The Karabiner 98k remained the principal German bolt-action service rifle throughout World War II despite the later introduction of semi-automatic and select-fire weapons.

Its sling was likewise retained in service and adapted across several newer weapons, making the basic K98k leather sling one of the most recognizable German small-arms accessories of the period.

https://www.ima-usa.com/products/original-german-wwii-karabiner-98-kurz-k98k-1939-dated-leather-sling-with-frog-and-keeper-by-joseph-moll-of-goch-kar98k
