It is hand sewn, with steel hardware, and made of quality leather which was originally fully crosshatched. The sling will also work for G\/K43 and MP43\/44.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a very nice solid example that retains its steel buckle (\u003cem\u003eKlemmstück\u003c\/em\u003e) with leather guard, and the blued finish is worn. The buckle pin (\u003cem\u003eKlemmwaltze\u003c\/em\u003e) is in good condition, and is an early\/pre war production. The inside of the buckle has the correct textured surface for a more secure length adjustment. The sling end frog (\u003cem\u003efrosch\u003c\/em\u003e) is correct and made from leather covered steel. The sliding keeper loop is present, which is often lost over the years. The buckle is stamped\u003cstrong\u003e L\u0026amp;F\u003c\/strong\u003e, for Linden \u0026amp; Funke KG of Iserlohn, one of four known subcontractors. These are very difficult to find with any markings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe leather does have age and some cracking, along with one small tear, but still shows a great amount of the crosshatched embossing. The stitching is solid, and the leather covering on the frog is fully complete, with the stitching intact. It was adopted on 21 June 1935 as the standard service rifle by the German Wehrmacht.
