Original German WWII Hitler Youth Custom Hunting Pocket Knife with Fixed Main Blade & Folding Tools
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting German WWII "hunting" style pocket knife, which has had a Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth or HJ) insignia inset into one of the grip scales. There is a very faint D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reiches Gebrauchs Musterschutz) marking on the blade - meaning it is a protected patented design under the Reich Government, and is definitely a German WWII Knife.
The knife itself measures about 7 inches long, with a 3 1/2 inch long fixed main blade, which has a small cross guard. The back of the blade has a bit of "jimping", which is on the thumb rise to give a better grip on the back of the blade when using it. The handle of the knife has four fold out tools: a combination saw / bottle opener / split flat head screwdriver, a combination can opener / nail file, an awl / punch, and a corkscrew. Definitely very useful in the field, especially if hunting was required.
The knife comes with its original custom-made leather belt sheath, which has a lovely aged brown color. It has two retaining straps, both functional, for the crossguard and the handle of the knife.
A very interesting HJ pocket knife with sheath, ready to display!
Hitler believed German youth to be the future of his 3rd Reich. The Hitler Youth (Hitler Jugend) was formed officially in 1935, and with the exception of Nazi ideology indoctrination was very similar to the Boy Scouts. Beginning at about the age of ten years, both boys (Hitler Jugend) and girls (Bund Deutscher Mädel) were enlisted in the Party-run organization.
