It is further fitted with a \u003cem\u003eSchirrmeister Tätigkeitsabzeichen\u003c\/em\u003e trade badge on the lower right sleeve, indicating responsibility for unit transport and equipment management.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe base material of the uniform is made of a fine feldgrau colored \"whipcord\" weave wool. Eight magnetic pebbled aluminum topped buttons adorn the right front of the tunic, meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left side. All appear to be originally attached and marked \u003cstrong\u003eEXTRA FEIN\u003c\/strong\u003e on the back, and there are also two \"hook and hoop\" closures on the collar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior is lined with a very nice light colored cotton and rayon blend, with a horizontal slash pocket on the left interior chest, as is standard. There is additionally an fixed length internal belt, which helped to keep the form fitting profile of the tunic. The sleeves are lined with striped white rayon. We checked thoroughly, and were not able to see any markings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tunic is fitted with the usual rank and branch insignia of Heer Army tunics. The breast features a machine embroidered dark bottle green and silver bullion thread eagle. The eagle is without damage and is very neatly hand stitched to the chest in a fashion typical of wartime German tailor work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe collar is wrapped in f\u003cem\u003elaschengrün\u003c\/em\u003e (dark bottle-green) \"badge cloth\" wool, and decorated a strip of 15mm flat silver-grey woven rayon braid (\u003cem\u003eUnteroffoziers-Tressen\u003c\/em\u003e), sewn around the collar border. The base material of the two bullion EM\/NCO dress litzen on each side of the collar opening is \u003cem\u003eRosa\u003c\/em\u003e (Rose-pink), which was the \u003cem\u003eWaffenfarbe\u003c\/em\u003e (corps color) during WWII for the \u003cem\u003ePanzers\u003c\/em\u003e (Armored Troops) and \u003cem\u003ePanzerjäger\u003c\/em\u003e (Tank Destroyers). The collar, front closure, cuffs, and other areas of the tunic bear piping of the same color.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe “sew-in” style \u003cem\u003eUnteroffiziere ohne Portepee Schulterklappen\u003c\/em\u003e (Junior NCO shoulder straps) of this Waffenrock have a dark bottle green wool base, with NCO Tresse sewn around the perimeter, but open at the ends. This indicates the junior NCO rank of Unteroffizier, equivalent to a U.S. Army Sergeant. They are correctly piped in rose-pink for a panzer NCO. There are three pairs of thread loops on the right breast, which are for awards not included with the uniform.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shoulder insignia both have rose-pink embroidered gothic \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eP\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e cyphers over the number \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e22\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, embroidered in the same color. This indicates that they were a member of the 22nd Panzerjäger Battalion, part of the 22nd Panzer Division. Originally called the \u003cem\u003ePanzerabwehr-Abteilung 22\u003c\/em\u003e, the unit was formed on 15 October 1935 in Bremen. Upon mobilization, the 2nd Machine Gun Company of MG Battalion 52 was incorporated as the 4th Company. There is light fraying at several buttonholes, typical wear to the inside of the collar, and substantial abrasion to the right shoulder P cypher. The collar insignia and shoulder straps otherwise remain well preserved.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior lining is also generally very good but shows a few tears and areas of wear. The worn right shoulder cypher, minor buttonhole fraying, collar wear, lining tears, and sleeve lining damage are all fully disclosed. The design of the M35 dress tunic was based on the Imperial German army’s service tunic but was a different color and generally of much higher quality. Originally all personnel were issued two M35 dress tunics but manufacture was discontinued in late 1939 or early 1940 and was to be reinstated at the successful conclusion of the war. Regulations of March 21ST 1940 stated that the M35 dress tunics that were no longer suitable for dress wear were to be modified and reissued to personnel of the replacement and reserve units for every day wear. Officers and certain senior NCO ranks were responsible for purchasing their own uniforms and as a result were allotted a clothing allowance through the army’s \u003cem\u003eKleiderkasse\u003c\/em\u003e, (Clothing Account), system. The Officers and certain senior NCO’s could choose to purchase their uniforms from the armed forces clothing depots or to privately purchase garments of higher quality.
