The design was based on that of the earlier G41(W), but incorporated an improved short-stroke piston gas system similar to that of the Soviet Tokarev SVT-40. It was manufactured using innovative mass-production techniques. The rifle was designed for many uses, including use as a sniper rifle, which would include the Gw ZF 4 Sniper scope.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a scarce but service used magazine for the G43 \/ K43, which still retains good markings.
