Original German WWII Deutsches Afrikakorps Hensoldt-Wetzlar 10x50 Dienstglas Binoculars in Leather Case

Original Item: Only One Available. Known by collectors as "ice cream cone" binoculars (due to the shape), these were the classic 10x50 German military issue in WWII. Made by Hensoldt & Sohne Werke A-G in Wetzlar, Germany ,this beautiful set of 10x50 "Dialyt" model binoculars is in the more desirable higher power and finished in the correct Afrikakorps Dunkelgelb (Dark Yellow)tan.

This pair is marked bmj on the bridge, indicating that these were produced after 1941, when the company started using 3 letter code bmj. The serial number 58988. On the opposing side of the bridge is the series marking D.G. (Dienstglas) and the power is also marked with the numbers 10 X 50.

Both diopter adjustments operate smoothly and the bakelite eye cups are excellent. The optics are in excellent condition and totally clear. Original leather neck strap with eye piece guard is also included. The binoculars are offered in excellent functional condition.

Also included is a fine condition black leather case with a wood-lined top where original filtered sun shields are currently stored. The spring-loaded catch mechanism is maker marked and dated fm 42 for Rudolf Lang,  Brandenburg an der Havel,  Koppehlstrasse 5-7, a maker of springs and metalwear. The shoulder strap for the case is  missing. This is still a wonderful set complete with case offered in very nice condition. Ready to display!
