They were trained and organized as paramilitary, uniformed units, yet remained unarmed. This lovely example of a DAF Factory Brigade summer overseas cap is constructed of fine dark navy blue HBT fabric, and is shows signs of only light use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe front center of the cap features a lovely machine embroidered white DAF style national eagle on a navy blue background, with no other insignia due to the lightweight nature of the summer cap. The interior is lined on the sides with light blue canvas, while the top pleat is unlined. In October 1934 the DAF was given official status as a sub-section of the NSDAP and in March 1936 it was recognized as an independent NSDAP affiliated association and granted control of its own monetary budget.
