Original German WWII Cased Heer Army Officer's Dress Brocade Belt with Buckle by F. W. Assmann & Söhne

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Heer Army Officer's Bullion Dress Brocade Belt, with attached aluminum buckle. These belts were worn with the dress uniform for ceremonial occasions, and were standard issue to all officers with their dress uniform.

The belt is a die struck/stamped, aluminum alloy based construction that has been silver washed. It depicts the Wehrmacht Heer Eagle on a pebbled background that is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The buckle is attached by a double square ring to a long quality woven bright silver/aluminum construction brocade belt. The belt pattern has two horizontal green lines, and the two sliding vertical loops have the same pattern. One of these loops has an extended backing, intended to go behind the length adjustment leather tab.

The reverse is lined in a Heer Field Gray fabric, and has a leather length adjustment tab, as seen on standard leather belts. There is an aluminum claw clasp that attaches to this and hooks together with the buckle.

The belt itself measures about 40” when fully extended, and is marked on the buckle clip with the "barred A" trademark logo of  F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid, a large maker of belts, buttons, and other accoutrements. The buckle is in fantastic shape, with minimal wear, and clear frosting, and the opposing clasp is just as nice. The belt and sliders are in equally nice condition, as shown.

The belt comes in an excellent condition original case, which is covered in lovely red faux leather. The interior is lined with lovely maroon velvet, which is retained very well.

Overall a great example of a hard to find WWII German Dress Belt in original case, ready to display!
