This is a very nice German WWII Era Cased Presentation \"Table Medal\", a relatively award usually displayed on a shelf or table, as the name implies. The medal itself measures about 2 3\/8” in diameter, and is 3mm thick, made of gilt die struck bronze alloy. It comes in a very nice satin and velvet lined case measuring about 3 3\/8\" square, with a functional hinge and lock. The top of the box is marked in gold as follows:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEhrenpreis\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003edes Gaus Nr. 33\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGöttingen\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis directly translates to \"\u003cem\u003eHonorary Award of District No. 33, Göttingen\u003c\/em\u003e\", though we have not been able to find out exactly for what reason these were distributed, as they appear to have been available in gold and silver grades.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe award itself shows an NSAP Reichsadler Eagle at the top perched on a swas, and below this is the coat of arms of Göttingen, which shows three towers above a Lion. On either side of the coat of arms is the date \u003cstrong\u003e8. 2. 37.\u003c\/strong\u003e, and around the bottom of the medal is \u003cstrong\u003e15. YEARS OF THE NSDAP IN GÖTTINGEN\u003c\/em\u003e).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reverse of the medal is plain, and marked with with\u003cb\u003e JFS in a Rectangle\u003c\/b\u003e, the logo of \u003cem\u003eJosef Feix \u0026amp; Söhne of Gablonz\u003c\/em\u003e. This city was part of the so-called \"Sudetenland\" during WWII. Today it is known as Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Rebublic. Below this is \u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eD.R.G.M.\u003c\/strong\u003e (\u003cem\u003eDeutsches Reiches Gebrauchs Musterschutz\u003c\/em\u003e) - meaning it is a protected patented design under the Reich Government.
