This is held together by the standard black leather belt harness. The canteen in this example is painted red.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe steel cup in this set is marked by the handle with \u003cstrong\u003eL \u0026amp; S.L. 43\u003c\/strong\u003e for 1943 manufacture by \u003cstrong\u003eLinnepe \u0026amp; Schiffer, Lüdenscheid\u003c\/strong\u003e. The top cap still has the rubber sealing washer, though we cannot guarantee it still holds water.
