It comes complete in a very nice \u003cstrong\u003eLDO\u003c\/strong\u003e box, which are quite hard to find, and definitely adds to the value of this piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReverse of pin reads \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e16 December 1938\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, which is the date that the award was first established, along with AH's Signature. The condition is excellent with the original silver fully retained, and the ribbon pin is also in lovely condition, showing just a bit of age toning at the ends.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is maker marked with LDO number \u003cstrong\u003eL\/11\u003c\/strong\u003e on the back bottom arm of the cross, which represents \u003cstrong\u003eWilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid\u003c\/strong\u003e. The The LDO, (\u003cem\u003eLeistungs Gemeinschaft der Deutscher Ordenshersteller\u003c\/em\u003e - Administration of German orders Manufacturers), was a self-governing organization formed in 1941 which regulated the manufacturing of all German awards. The firm Wilhelm Deumer was fully licensed in the organization, entry number 11.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe LDO box is in lovely condition, showing only light wear and bearing the correct LDO logo on the inside of the lid.
