Here we have a very nice set of four German Steel Army EM/NCO's Buckles (Koppelschloßen), brought back by a USGI after the war. It was very common for a soldier to specialize in specific items, and belt buckles were definitely a popular choice. All are correctly embossed with the German motto GOTT MIT UNS ("God with us") in a double rope border, which was the same during both world wars. The WWI Buckle design has a Prussian Crown in the middle with a partial laurel leaf wreath underneath, while the WWII buckles have a "Closed Wing" Wehrmachtadler Armed Forces Eagle in the middle above a partial oak leaf wreath.

This very nice set consists of the following:

- One Imperial German Prussian M1915 Pattern Single Piece Stamped Steel Belt buckle, overpainted olive green. This has the insignia stamped directly into the body of the buckle, a design that carried into the post war and WWII designs.
