This is a very interesting German knife of the World War I era manufactured by Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen, and later captured \u0026amp; modified by an American soldier during World War II.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe knife has a 5½” blade which is faintly marked:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eANTON WINGEN JR.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFABRIK FEINEN STAHLWAREN\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSOLINGEN\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blade has likely been sharpened by the soldier who captured it. The stag handle is still well-retained with service-wear. The pommel of the knife has a U.S. WWII Collar disc attached and vaulted, which is still held on strong.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original scabbard appears custom and has hand-cut belt loops.
