Here is a very good condition WWI Imperial German Model 1894 Hebel flare pistol, in the standard 26.5mm caliber with a 9 inch barrel. Left side of frame is marked is marked with the manufactures name of \u003cstrong\u003eCHR. F.\u003c\/strong\u003e, standing for Christoph Funk of Suhl, Germany. Below this is the serial number \u003cstrong\u003e845\u003c\/strong\u003e, which is also marked on the locking lug of the barrel. There are also several small proof marks on the right side of the frame, including the German Imperial Eagle, and \u003cstrong\u003eCrown over B\u003c\/strong\u003e for \u003cem\u003eBeschuss\u003c\/em\u003e = proof load fired.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMetal finish is worn with a nice worn gray patina, with signs of past pitting and scale. The wood grips still fit well, but do show wear and handling marks commensurate with age and long service. The lanyard ring is still present (rare). Mechanically tight and fully functional, though the catch sticks a bit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese were used by the German Military throughout both world wars, being used when signalling to German soldier to go \"over the top\" when leaving their trenches and engaging Allied forces.
