The serial number \u003cstrong\u003e21499\u003c\/strong\u003e is fairly low, as by 1943 the company was well into 6 digit numbers. On the opposing side of the hinge is the series marking \u003cstrong\u003eNACHT-DIALYT\u003c\/strong\u003e and the power is also marked with the numbers \u003cstrong\u003e7\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ex\u003c\/strong\u003e56\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e. Optics are clear and all parts function as designed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis series is a bit more \"modern\" in design than the \"Dialyt\" or \"Dienstglas\" series, in that they have a common focus adjustment in the middle, as opposed to individual diopter adjustments for each eyepiece. There is a compensation adjustment on the right eyepiece, as with a modern binoculars.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is some oxidation on the aluminum fittings where the finish has lifted, but overall these binoculars are in great functional condition. The optics are in excellent condition and mostly clear. Original leather neck strap is also included, and is quite supple, with minimal wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlso included is a fine condition black leather case with a wood-lined top, where sun shields would have originally been stored. The spring-loaded catch mechanism is maker marked and dated \u003cstrong\u003errn 44\u003c\/strong\u003e an unknown maker code seen on many similar clips from gas mask canisters. The shoulder strap for the case is missing.
