The bayonet is quite long, with a 19 inch T-back blade, intended to increase the effective range of the fixed bayonet on the shorter carbine. It is in very good condition, with an original leather scabbard and belt frog. For more information, please see Watts \u0026amp; White, \u003cem\u003eThe Bayonet Book\u003c\/em\u003e, Page 225 Item No. 501.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cross guard is marked with serial number \u003cstrong\u003e2803 K\u003c\/strong\u003e, and the body of the blade with \u003cstrong\u003eHEMBRUG\u003c\/strong\u003e. This was the trademark of \u003cem\u003eArtillerie Inrichtingen\u003c\/em\u003e, in Zaandam, referring to a swing bridge across the North Sea Canal that provided railroad access to the factory. This company began production of these bayonets in 1904, where previously foreign contractors had been used. There is also a \u003cstrong\u003eCROWN \/ H\u003c\/strong\u003e proof mark on the ricasso, for the inspector that passed it. There is also a \u003cstrong\u003eCROWN \/ Z\u003c\/strong\u003e proof on the pommel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bayonet and scabbard are in good condition, showing light wear and some age-related deterioration.
