The maker was \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eSHERWOODS LTD. of BIRMINGHAM\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e and the name and trade mark logo appear in various configurations three times on the lantern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMeasures 4.25\" W x 9.25\" H \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFolding wire carry handle on the top the lamp has three windows, a three and a half inch circular red glass window to the front and two-inch circular clear glass windows on either side. The rear of the lamp has an attaching bracket for a train or steel post mount.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior has a charming brass mounted and porcelain burner bearing the original wick. The porcelain body of the burner clearly marked \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eSHERWOODS LIMITED\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e around company trade mark. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wick can be adjusted, up and down by way of a brass wheel on the end of a brass rod that protrudes outside the body of the lantern. This wheel is also marked \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eSHERWOODS, BIRMINGHAM\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe body of the lantern heavily embossed with the date of \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003e1944\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e.
