This is a very nice standard British WWI P-1907 bayonet, which is marked very faintly maker-marked \u003cstrong\u003eWILKINSON \u003c\/strong\u003eon the ricasso, for Wilkinson Sword, a legendary maker of edged weapons. Above this is the correct \u003cstrong\u003e\"King's Crown\" G.R.\u003c\/strong\u003e over \u003cstrong\u003e1907\u003c\/strong\u003e, for a Pattern 1907 bayonet made during the reign of King George V, who reigned 1910 - 1936. This is marked together with all the usual acceptance marks and proofs, of which there are . The bayonet is also stamped \u003cstrong\u003e11 \u003c\/strong\u003eand ‘\u003cstrong\u003e16\u003c\/strong\u003e, indicating manufacture in November of 1916.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe bayonet comes in an early No. I Mk. II scabbard with a \"teardrop\" shaped frog stud, and a throat retained by three rivets, which were ground flush to the throat fitting. The P-1903 had been developed for the \"Long\" Magazine Lee-Enfield, which was 49.6 inches in overall length.
