The depiction is one both sides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spring is unfortunately broken, so there is no pressure when pushing back on it, but the hole still opens and closes. The flask measures approximately 8 3\/4” long. The cap still screws on and off without issue. There is no powder remaining in the flask. There are four small rings on the edges meant to hold the carrying strap which is now absent. This example dates to the Civil War period, but was likely meant as a hunting flask given the depiction.
