The flask was made by James Dixon \u0026amp; Sons of Sheffield, one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution. The depiction is on only one side of the flask.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spring is retained and functional, so the spout cutoff works great. The flask measures approximately 8 3\/4” long. The cap still screws on and off without issue. There is no powder remaining in the flask and there is some seam-splitting along the edge. This example dates to the Civil War period, but was likely meant as a hunting flask given the depiction.
