Near the top is painted \u003cstrong\u003eIV WR\u003c\/strong\u003e for IV William Rex, denoting the reign of William IV which lasted from 1830-1837, making this a very early example, the earliest we have had.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe truncheon is in great condition with the only damage being a few woodworm holes.
