Original British Napoleonic P-1796 Infantry Officer's Sword with Scabbard - Found Near Waterloo

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Here is a nice "SLEEPER", totally untouched in very possibly 200 years. This is the basic British Infantry Officer's Sword, with a solid brass ribbed grip, brass knuckle guard and brass cross guard, 36 inches long overall. This is mounted to a 30" single edged blade which is 1 inch wide at the hilt, and tapers slightly. Each side has a broad fuller and it is contained in its original brass mounted leather scabbard. Thees minimally decorated scabbards are quite scarce. A small part of the cross guard has been broken away and is now absent.

This Sword was found on a farm no too far from the Site of the Battlefield of Waterloo, which rather suggests it was recovered after the great battle and keep until last year.

An interesting, completely standard Infantry Officer's P-1796 Sword, UNCLEANED and still fast asleep!
