Captain Isaac Wolley was the brother of Vice Admiral Thomas Wolley, and saw much service in the French Revolutionary War of the 1790s and the following Napoleonic Wars, terminating with the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
We have been fortunate in finding his On-Line ROYAL NAVAL BIOGRAPHY running to six full pages which describes his career from his time as a Naval Lieutenant in in 1793 in the East India trade, his time in the West Indies under Sir John Jervis right up to his part in the Second Battle of Copenhagen in 1807. In 1813 he was made the Commander of the Naval Dock Yard in Jamaica , followed by Resident Commissioner of Gibraltar and then returned to England as the Deputy Chairman of the Royal Naval Victualling Board in 1818.
