The group includes formal soldier portraits, winter and field scenes, a rare photograph showing a portable Kleinflammenwerfer-type flamethrower in use, a striking Austro-Hungarian Red Cross-themed illustrated card, and a later memorial postcard depicting Austrian political figures Engelbert Dollfuss and Ignaz Seipel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeveral photographs show Austro-Hungarian soldiers in uniform with rifles, bayonets, and field equipment, including formal portraits and group images. The rifles appear consistent with the Steyr-Mannlicher M1895, a standard Austro-Hungarian service rifle of the period.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo striking images show troops operating in deep snow, including soldiers aiming from snow-covered positions and occupying individual trenches. We are all well ... Franz is at home ...”\u003c\/i\u003e The remainder of the old cursive becomes increasingly difficult to decipher with confidence, so we have left it untranslated. The second stamped card also carries a substantial handwritten personal message, though the lighter cursive is considerably more difficult to read. Portions appear to consist of greetings and family correspondence, but a complete, reliable transcription is not possible from the present images.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition varies throughout, with expected toning, spotting, edge wear, light fading, and surface wear. One postcard shows heavier album-mount residue and paper loss on the reverse. Overall, the images remain clear, with good detail visible in the military photographs.
