The sword has great mother-of-pearl grips with lovely brass fittings, one of the ferrules reading\u003cstrong\u003e VIRIBUS UNITIS \u003c\/strong\u003eor (Latin for \"With United Forces\"). This was the personal motto of Emperor Franz Joseph I and the name of the Austro-Hungarian Navy's flagship, the dreadnought SMS Viribus Unitis.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sword has a lovely 33 ¼” plated blade with some minor edge nicking and retains a red felt blade buffer. The ricasso is stamped:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWEYERSBERG\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u0026amp; STAMM\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSOLINGEN\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWeyersberg \u0026amp; Stamm was a late 19th century maker that did some contract work for Bavaria and Austria-Hungary.
