The article is dated August 9th, 1815 and signed “E.W.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Battle of Waterloo occurred just over seven weeks before on Sunday June18, 1815. The illustration is colored, possibly by hand and shows the burying of the dead together with various soldiers and damaged buildings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInterestingly the wood panel shows evidence of long dead woodworm which suggests this item was framed and colored almost as soon as it was printed. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith a hanging ring to the center of the back, this hung in a British pub for almost 200 years.
